New Name and Logo for 2017!
Submitted By admin on Sun 01 22, 17
The Alvinston Minor Ball Association is excited to announce our new name and logo going forward into the 2017 season and beyond. After our recent campaign late in 2016, called #renameourindians, the Alvinston Minor Ball Association decided to take a leap into doing what was right by changing our logo and name to something more culturally appropriate, and representative of our own community.

We became leaders in this area, and received a lot of positive exposure in the media, which was evidenced with the $29,000 we collected in 6 days of fundraising. We would not be where we are today, without the positive assistance from High Road and Neil Johnson, who went above and beyond to help plan and bring this idea to life. Neil and his team’s hard work on promotional videos, scheduling interviews, along with their patience and marketing expertise, were vital in making this initiative a reality. We are forever grateful for the positive support we received, and especially thank the over 300 donors who helped make this initiative a reality. We also want to thank the 30+ kids in Alvinston Minor Ball and within our community, who created exciting logo examples for our Minor Ball committee to consider. Mackenzie Shaw, Kate Baresich, George Van Damme, Karen Van Damme, and Connor Cumming submitted wonderful concepts of logos that were considered up until the end, when we made our final decision. Ultimately we feel we have selected a logo, which kids will think is “cool”, and that represents something new and original for us to go forward with into the future. Big thanks are in order to Boorne Canadian Graphics - our logo company. This company has worked patiently with us, and helped us to come up with our logo concept, which we have absolutely fallen in love with. Without further ado, Alvinston Minor Ball is pleased to announce that going forward we will be the Alvinston Riverhawks!

Stay tuned for our registration dates, to be announced in the next couple of weeks, for your chance to become an Alvinston Riverhawk!
