Rookie OBA 9u C Provincial Finalists
Congratulations to Alvinston Riverhawks on a great weekend of baseball in the Kingsville OBA C Championship.
They pulled out all the stops. Saturday night the boys played under the lights in a 9 inning, 2 1/2 hour battle against the Kingsville Knights with the winner taking top seed in the finals. Unfortunately the Knights scored a run in the 9th inning with a close play at the plate to win 9-8. The Riverhawks battled back the next day with a win over Dorchester to set them up in finals once again with the Knights. The rookies held there own with Kingsville in the finals having the score tied through the 5 innings. The Knights eventually got 3 runs in the 6th and held on for the victory. It was a great year for boys who played there hearts out when needed most and they have much to be proud of.
