1 Loss 1 Win
I'm a little behind but better late than never. Over our last 2 games we have 1 loss and 1 win. June 23 we played Riverhawks Red with a short bench and they took advantage. We were missing 3 players and it left some holes in the defence and our bats were a little cold. We ended up with a 6-5 loss but theres always some positives to take out of the game. Dax was our player of the game with huge props given to Ryan for a great job behind the plate.
Our next game was June 29 were we travelled down 21 highway to play a very young Dresden team. Lets just say our defence was on fire by not allowing a runner past 2nd base and our bats were just as HOT! Every player got a hit as we went 34-45 at the plate. Dresden as I said is very young so they have a "no more than a double" rule and we took advantage of that. We had 8 doubles in the game and maybe would have had our first 4 HR's but you have to respect the age and skill level of the opponent and nobody wants to see a major blowout at this level. Final score was still 21-0 but Dresden did make some very good plays in the field and showed some great hustle in the loss. Zach and Rachel split the player of the game honours going a combined 7 for 9 with 5 of those doubles. Zach could have had 3 HR's but he understood the situation and realizes I'm not crazy for holding him up at 2nd. Great Job RB BLUE and keep working hard. Everyone is seeing the improvements being made on the field. GO RIVERHAWKS!!!
