Riverhawks lose to the Wranglers
The Mosquito OBA Riverhawks lost to the always powerful Wyoming (major) Wranglers. In our final tune-up game before our weekend tournament the intention was to get a few boys some pitching work before we head off to Mitchell on Friday. Kelly toed the rubber for the Riverhawks and had a good outing throwing many hard strikes. MacKellar came in to start the second and threw a quality inning. Pavey pitched the third, only needing to throw 9 pitches. Minten finished the game for us with a good 4th inning highlighted by a nice running catch in right field by Kelly to end the inning.
The Riverhawk bats were kept in check by the Wranglers hard throwing starter but the boys started rolling in the final 2 innings pushing across 6 runs, Irwin had a very hard hit single to bring in the first run. The final score was 11-6 in favor of Wyoming. The boys have competed in every single game this year and as the coaching staff told the boys after the game they can play with any team out there. Wish our boys good luck this weekend in Mitchell!
