Mosquito OBA, Baseball, 2017 (Alvinston Minor Ball)

The Mosquito OBA Riverhawks concluded their season In Chatham at the OBA "D" championship tournament. The Riverhawks had an outstanding tournament, finishing with a 3-2 record over the course of the 3 days. The Riverhawks were one of three teams representing WCBA at the tournament but the Hawks where the only one left playing on Sunday.

The Mosquito OBA Riverhawks dropped there exhibition game to the Blenheim Bees last night. The outcome was not the important thing for the Hawks, it had been 2 weeks since the boys had played a game so getting the arms back in game action was the goal.

The Mosquito Riverhawks came up with a huge 5-1 playoff victory tonight at home! The boys all played well again and the Tigers defense kept the game close. The offense was lead by a big double from Aarts, smart aggressive base running lead to most of the Riverhawks runs. The Tigers defense was solid and their pitcher absolutely robbed Duncan of at least a base hit with a beautiful snag on a line drive right back up the middle.

The Mosquito OBA Riverhawks came away with a huge 7-0 playoff victory tonight in Dresden! It was a great all around effort by all the boys anchored by some outstanding pitching from Duncan and Van Gorp.

The Mosquito OBA Riverhawks lost a heart breaker to the Corunna Giants tonight. The game was a pitching and defensive showdown. In the end the Giants walked off the Hawks in the bottom of the 7th for a 4-3 victory after the Riverhawks battled back to tie it in the top of the 7th. The Hawks defense was stellar all around but the bats were kept in check by the Giants pitchers.
